They have a Japanese garden, which I tried - and failed - to see. I am sure the rose garden pictured here is nicer when roses are in season.

I liked this park and can tell it’d be pretty nice in summer. These pictures don’t do it justice.

Tuba Christmas in Portland. Tough to get good photos from my seat, but they had a bunch of tubas playing Christmas carols downtown, around a big tree. Photo of the big tree is a few hours after the tubas and associated crowd left.

Welcome to Portland, Oregon!

Snow here is uncommon, but not unheard of. Guess who showed up on a snow day? Snowy photos are all from the train, foreshadowing the cold walk from the station.

Next stop: Portland! This one will be a shorter trip, back to CA just before Christmas.
